Crafting acetate eyewear is sculpting. Oakdale draws inspiration from the freedom and experimentation of classical sculpting, playing with traditional lines and adding unexpected details. A sharp angle at the outer corner of the lens differentiates this style from other deep teacup shapes. The name is inspired by Terracotta Row on Oakdale Avenue, a block named a Chicago landmark for the highly detailed terracotta details on its buildings that were once home to executives of the once famed Northwestern Terra Cotta Company. The colors of the Oakdale all are drawn from nature. Multi-colored acetates infuse texture into the style evoking earthenware sculpture.
