R-5A Eyeglass Frames

I was issued R-5A 145mm glasses in basic training. Those frames lasted two years of impacts, falls, bumps, low-crawls, and bit the dust to a rifle butstock at just the right angle. I looked up "145mm Rochester" on the web and sure enough, Frame Of Choice is selling! I ended up buying the wrong bridge size, but after a quick return to their place they sent the right ones at no extra cost!!! Original lenses fit perfectly into the new frames, and the new leg style works in my favor- no more slips!

I needed a pair of customized frames since “standard-size temples” (up to 145mm) generally are too short for a comfortable fit. I love these eyeglasses. Very slim and attractive fit, hard to explain. They feel flimsy and cheap but they're durable henceforth why they are the new standard issue eyeglass for all US military personnel. That and they're cheap so if they do break it's much easier to get a new pair. I love these eyeglasses and I love this company and the customer service/support. I, like a foolish individual did not double check my order before clicking submit and finalizing my order/purchase and ended up order the wrong size. Upon arrival they did not fit and therefore were slight too snug and obviously so as they were pushing out the temples and also messed up the vision in the lenses. I reached out to the company to try to get it resolved and they made a new order and sent them out to me at no charge and said to just keep the pair I had because I'm assuming they'd have no use for them since they're RX and would simply get scrapped. Granted that's what I'm doing with them, I'll recycle responsibly. But again new order made and sent at no cost to me, I told them they will have a life long customer and I meant it. Especially like how they sell standard military issued eyeglasses. I can speak from personal experience having been at RTC in Chico for the Navy Reserve at the start of this year (2024) that the R-5As are in fact the standard issue. Same brand and all. Frame of Choice is legit. For military personnel or folks who like military stuff in general as you can rock the standard issue eyeglass if you have RX or for anyone.
